The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul is a unique building. When the church was consecrated in 1891 in the presence of the country's bishops and Emperor Franz Joseph I, the newspapers in Budapest wrote: "Anyone who wants to see paradise, come to Pécs!" It acquired its present form in the 19th century as a result of reconstruction, but even rebuilt, it preserved the charm of the medieval cathedral.
North of the Cathedral, you can see the Medieval University and its surroundings, whose arrangement was completed in 2014, the ruins, and the castle wall promenade, designed by Antal Gergely and Balázs Almási.

During the development of the southern part of Pécs, the city administration at the time created the possibility of establishing a southern excursion center. Tüskésrét is one of Pécs' southern districts, located on a green area between the Pécs Public Cemetery and the power plant. It's best to reach it by car from the city center and other districts, or possibly by local bus or bicycle. Tüskésrét is an excellent opportunity for a nature-centered relaxation, as it boasts unique flora and fauna, as well as a wonderful view from the observation deck. There is also a lake and a leisure park here, the latter of which welcomes visitors with wakeboard and running tracks.

The Wine House is located on the Tettye, as this is the place where the vineyards were planted in the past.It offers a fantastic view of the whole city!
The Tüke Wine House opened on 1 May 2010. The building, which houses the region's most outstanding wines, has stood on the Mecsek hillside for over a hundred years, watching the city change.
The Tüke Wine House awaits its guests with the outstanding wines and sparkling wines of the Pécs wine region, combined with a professional wine tasting.
The excellent wines are accompanied by grilled dishes, homemade smoked delicacies, goose pâté, homemade goat cheese, homemade strudel and fragrant scones.

We have tested many venues for children's picnics and this one took first place in most respects. The courtyard of the Hársfa Street confectionery is a real fairytale world! The constantly maintained garden has terraces built at different levels, so each one is a little separated from the other. At the bottom of the garden is a modern wooden playground, so children can romp around in the enclosed area.
Only natural ingredients, without additives their cakes are made.

It fits so naturally into its surroundings and is so human-scale that its presence may not be immediately noticeable. The planks leading to the chapel do not yet convey the power of the place, but just a few steps, and we find ourselves in an intimate, secure space. Suddenly, the veins of the trees catch our eye, the golden-green leaves of the reeds peeping through the beams, a smile at the corner of the person with us, or a vein on their hand. Meanwhile, the breeze flowing from the lake gently caresses the face, and the sound of the waves is like a soothing lullaby. This nest – the name is very apt! – is not closed; indeed, the conversations of fishermen on the neighboring pier and the noise of children playing in the nearby campsite also seep in. Looking out, the landscape becomes a beautiful panorama, with the Mecsek Mountains embracing the lake reflecting the clouds. Compared to these feelings, the simplicity of the structure is impressive.

On the larger lake in Orfű, a beautiful dock with a boat can be rented. Recommended for couples or smaller groups, it's a great way to spend time from spring to autumn. It's truly a romantic spot for watching the sunset, perfect even for proposals!

North of Kaposvár, you can find Hungary's longest artificial lake, Lake Deseda.
The lake and its surroundings are a wonderful nature reserve, with excellent picnic spots at several points. For romantic occasions, I recommend the quieter parts, and for team building activities or birthdays, the flat green area next to the free beach is ideal.

Anyone who likes to sip fine wines on summer evenings should definitely not miss this location. Unparalleled views, rural surroundings and fantastic hospitality welcome us at the Bodris. It can be combined with an off-road wine tour for the more adventurous.
